Nikon P1000 has a crazy 125x zoom Lens

When we were called to provide videography for a client at the LIMA event in Langkawi last year,we knew we had to get a reliable roaming camera with a powerful zoom lens to get all the action as close as possible, and luckily one of our business partners owned a Nikon P900 and we were fairly impressed by its capabilities to zoom in and yet produce a good footage that’s not too shaky.

But now Nikon has up the ante with the release of it’s latest camera, the P1000.

The Nikon P1000 has 125x optical zoom, which means it starts a little wider than your typical smartphone camera lens, and can zoom far enough that you can focus on objects that are literally miles away depending on your vantage point.

In camera terms, the 125x lens has an equivalent focal range of 24mm to 3000mm. To put that in perspective, the massive, telephoto lenses you’ll typically find on the sidelines of sporting tend to hover between 400mm and 600mm.

This is just crazy! and safe to say we are tempted to buy it for the company.
